On the 2009-06-18 German leadership approved a new law ("Zugriffserschwerungsgesetz" (ZugErschwG)) so called Access-Restriction-Law to restrict access to the Internet. In detail,... with this law they plan to restrict access to child pornographic sites which is good
BUT! The problem with it is, that you can access those sites by using a different approaches for example tunneling you traffic. So for experts its possible to gain access again and because I think that the child-pornographic community is very organized howto's for getting access again, will be out in no time.
Examples in other countries
For example take countries like Iran or China they restrict access to sites like Facebook, Twitter even Google is filtering its content. But by the time of Olympic games in 2008 articles of how to get ride of the proxy servers appeared all over the Internet for example here:
new.softpedia.com or German Linux magazine
here
So whats the bottom line of of this?
I think:
1. perverts that are there for years (since Internet started actually) will have no problems to gain access again!
2. the rest of us have a new useless rule to obey, that can be used to control our personal rights
My question is why is there no approach to shutdown those servers where the content is hosted instate of try to restrict the access to it, in a way that is not working.
If your interested in this you should visit the German site that give you some ideas what could happen in future if this development goes on.
